The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances. His main focus is robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. These multitaskers can be ideal for those who want to get rid of mopping off their list of tasks. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some even wash and refill their mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robot vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other models and makes it easier to maneuver into tight spaces or under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in robot vacuums. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.

It's extremely fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways in just one pass. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to remove dirt as well as pet hair and even droppings easily. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the two side brushes help to tease away debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as impressive. The rotating mop spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger debris like books and broken toys.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to install and works well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum solely to mop you must pay attention to this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a variety of features.

The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out your home, detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and methodically. This ensures an even and thorough clean, while also being relatively rapid.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach areas. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can extend to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.

Another feature worth mentioning is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction intensity and choose a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also turn off the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rugs.

This device has a fairly high price tag but is packed with a wide array of innovative features. It is important to remember that the device will incur recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be changed every three month.

This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent rating on Amazon and includes a broad array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has a power button which doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a Home button to send it home after cleaning. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or just want a cleaner home without spending much time doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life allow you to keep a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two modules that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module which has microfiber pads. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming might seem a bit outdated, but they do mean you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refueling the water tank.

Our test subjects found that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise map of your floorplan which it uses to determine a route when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair from pets. It was able to capture some of the hair that our cats shed, and even got into some of the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots struggled. It was quiet and had some nice jingles that indicated when it was beginning or finishing its work.

The biggest flaws were its simple app and the need to switch between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't contain multiple maps, which could be a pain when you live in a house with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. It does however, have distinct features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its massive dock which doubles as a charging base and the housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning as well as an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.

The base also comes with a set of control buttons that allow you to manually start a cleaning job or recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down  budget robot vacuum  to turn off the child lock, which is a nice feature for parents who are worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

The X1 can be prone to get stuck if it gets entangled in a blockage, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't function until you untangle it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence, it was a frustrating experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni does not have a "stuck" status alert in its application.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.

On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern, sleek base and mopping pad. It's a big contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for the market that is dominated by boxy units.
